Introducing our Premium Palestine Tote Bag – Elevate your style while making a statement with this everyday accessory.
What does the watermelon symbolise for Palestine? The watermelon “is seen as a symbol of resistance and persistence.” It first emerged after the Six-Day War in 1967, when Israel seized control of the West Bank and Gaza, and annexed East Jerusalem. At the time, the Israeli government made public displays of the Palestinian flag a criminal offense in Gaza and the West Bank. To evade the ban, Palestinians began using the watermelon because, when cut open, the fruit bears the national colours of the Palestinian flag — red, black, white, and green.
